Belly Dance Lessons:
Kashmir has over 15 years teaching experience and teaches a range of classes.
Standard beginner classes start with an 8-week (10-hour) Intro course.
Students can then carry on to NextSteps.
Class times vary term to term. The latest timetable can be found on the website.
Standard classes are held in South Brighton, Christchurch in the evenings.
Classes for specific interests, times or places are available if there are sufficient numbers (minimum 4 people pre-paid). Extra will be charged for travel if the classes are not held at the South Brighton studio.
Your voucher can be for a single person to do an Intro course ($80), or if they have completed the equivalent, a NextSteps course ($100 per term - see class pricing details).

Belly Dance Playshops:
Playshops are "workshops" without the "work". These are great fun at Hens Nights but can be used for any group of friends who would like to get together and try some bellydance.
An hour is enough for most people. Belly dance is physically challenging.
A standard one hour Playshop includes a short belly dance performance by Kashmir, a short lesson and choreography. Kashmir can bring along a limited number of hip belts so you can jingle away.
Lectures, DVD presentations and straight dance workshops are also available.
The number of participants is not limited by your voucher but it is best that there is sufficient room for everyone to move around a little.
One hour playshop is $200 - excluding venue and sound hire and travel outside Christchurch City.
One hour workshop or lecture is $100 - excluding venue and sound hire and travel outside Christchurch City.
Belly Dance Performance:
A bellydance performance can range from a 5 minute Bellygram, to a 15 minute performance - with or without involving the guest of honour, to a full show.
Kashmir, and her senior students, perform not only "bra and belt belly dance" (also known as cabaret or nightclub style bellydance), but also a range of folkloric styles in appropriate folk (fully covered) costumes. Unless otherwise requested, a performance will be in some variation of a bra and belt (bedleh).
Your exact requirements can be discussed when you purchase your voucher - length of performance, style of dancing, type of costuming etc. Price is also dependent on what is required.
Please note: performances are only for mixed or women only groups. Kashmir does not perform for stag groups or single men.
